Well folks the brackets are now set.
I was surprised by the lack of votes for quite a few bands. I knew not all of my favorites would make it the list of 16 but I did think some of them would get more support. About 90 Bands were mentioned as well about 60 solo acts among all the postings.
4 of the 16 in the solo category could have been in the Bands category but I followed the way the votes were
cast. Tom Petty for some reason received 90% of his votes as a solo act and Carlos Santana got 75% of his that way.
Jimi Hendrix and Bruce Springsteen had enough votes to make the brackets and be seeded in the top half of both categories. I used my editorial powers to decide to put them in the solo category only.
Here are the first round match ups for both categories. The seeds are in parenthesis. Please just list your choice in each of the match ups. The voting for the first round will close on Sunday at 11:00 pm est. I will be posting the next round as soon as I can afterwards.
Thanks to all of for your participation as well as your comments.
