Semi-finals Are Ready For VotingThe Beatles- As influential as Led Zeppelin was and continues to be, no band had a greater influence on the course of popular culture (music, fashion, politics, etc.) than The Beatles The Rolling Stones- They just keep on going. It hard to imagine that The Stones got there start not long after The Beatles, yet they are still relevant (arguable, but the fact that Martin Scorcese just directed a full length doc on the band should attest to their enduring popularity). The music speaks for itself. While they did not push the envelope like Pink Floyd did, their body of work is staggering. Quality and quantity. Bob Dylan- Even Clapton will attest to how influential Dylan was. Clapton has gladly played side-man to Bob on numerous occassions. He says in his bio what a tremendous impact Dylan had on his music. Clapton is a monumental figure in the history of popular music, but it all starts with Dylan. He changed rock and roll and continues to put out great music. Springsteen- I'm probably a bigger Hendrix fan, but his body of work is not long enough to take down The Boss. |
