-Holy smokes, Yank-  It's been a "long and winding road", hasn't it?

Finals:
The Beatles (1) vs. Pink Floyd (6)   -I love Floyd, but I love The Beatles more.  On top of that, who was the bigger influence?  Anyways, I spilled a few beans on the topic earlier-  I'll just say that The Beatles, IMO, were easily the greatest band in the history of rock, with all due respect to the tons of other fantastic bands that I also love., including Pink Floyd..   The Beatles were tha bomb-  40 years later, much of their stuff remains as timeless now as it was when it was written...  An amazing feat of songcraft...

Eric Clapton (1) vs. Bruce Springsteen (2)   -I'm definitely going with my favorite of the two here.  The Boss was a great songwriter, but I think that guys like Dylan, Neil Young, Jackson Browne and others had alredy laid the groundwork for him. Slowhand (on the other hand), was one of the true originals in rock-  possibly (and certainly at least one of) the first white guy to become a virtuoso blues player, and take it to a white audience, and then take the blues lead playing sensibility and apply it to rock....   His influence on music is probably on a par with The Boss, but instumentally, EC is hands down one of the all-time greats...  Gotta go with him in this case...

About What's On My Mind
I have picked another topic that I can only hope is half as popular as the last. Everybody loves the movies. The Stars of a long time ago remain legends and forever young on film. These actors have created memorable characters. They made you laugh, cry, scream and feel every emotion possible. Of all those that ever appeared on the Silver Screen I want to learn who your favorites of All Time are. It will be interesting to see how the stars of yesteryear stack up to the new Kings and Queens of the movies.
